Raising the Bar for Student Achievement

• The priority of middle school science is structured to achieve the goal of raising the bar for student achievement in middle school. The primary focus of the entire plan is to raise the level of academic challenge, expectation, and achievement for every student; all our efforts towards reaching each objective are directed to that end. The framework includes four primary objectives and action steps with which to accomplish each objective.

• Objective 1: Implement rigorous, appropriate instructional strategies in all middle school science courses

• Objective 2: Improve communication within the middle school

• Objective 3: Address and accommodate special needs of students

• Objective 4: Expand alternative and exploratory options for middle school students
