The Hague International Model United Nations

CIC annually sponsors a Model United Nations team that is to participate in the annual Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) conference in Holland held each January. The team is selected based on academic excellence, experience and leadership demonstrated in the school's various MUN programs and activities as well as other important contributions in extracurricular areas.

The conference at The Hague is the premier annual model UN gathering in the World and each year in excess of 3,500 students from around the world gather to discuss global issues of current and future importance. This past year 2007, CIC was selected to represent the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) at the conference. Schools may attend the THIMUN conference on an invitation-only basis. THIMUN has a long waiting list of schools wishing to attend and is quite selective with respect to whom it extends invitations to participate. CIC is privileged to have been a long-standing, regular attendee to the THIMUN Conference. We believe that THIMUN participation offers an outstanding educational value to our CIC students with respect to preparing them to be knowledgeable, active, and responsible international citizens.
